The year 2020 will be remembered as the year the Language Industry faced changes and new challenges. The ALC has been at the forefront in bringing together language company owners, experts, and resources to help our members find the knowledge and help
they need to succeed. We invite you to Join us!
Who is the ALC?
The Association of Language Companies (ALC) is an association designed for all Language Service Companies (LSC) throughout North America and abroad. ALC’s collaborative environment helps stimulate business development while promoting shared learning and
Here are some ways that ALC is working to bring value to our members:
Networking: The ALC has almost 200 active member companies across a number of categories around the world, including new and emerging companies, as well as a number of members from the Nimdzi Top 100 list. The ALC brings together
LSCs, technology partners and industry vendors who can help strengthen businesses to propel organizations to the next level. Our members become more prominent within the industry, building long-term partnerships, and become surrounded with like-minded
industry leaders which are all very tangible benefits of networking in the ALC community.
Education: Becoming a member of ALC provides ample opportunities for continuing education. Stay current with the latest trends, developments, skills and technology within the industry by participating in ALC events such as: the
ALC Webinar Series, ALC Annual Conference, ALC Annual UnConferenceTM, and the ALC Roundtables & Virtual Roundtable Series.
Advocacy and Influence: With your membership, the ALC can collectively influence local and federal law-makers. ALC’s Government Relations Committee works to understand laws that impact LSCs, inform public opinion and make positive
change for the language community. During the times of AB5 and Worker Classification, having the ability to impact legislative decisions is critical to the safety of the industry and those who operate within it.
Exchange of Ideas and Information Sharing: The opportunity to share best practices with peers is one of the greatest benefits of an ALC Membership. ALC provides members-only communications tools like the ALC WhatsApp Closed Group plus in-person
events. When ideas and information are shared, members are not only able to improve their own business by remaining informed but can also help shape the industry positively.
What do I get with an ALC Membership?
With each membership to the Association of Language Companies, LSC’s and their employees can take advantage of our various successful programs, which we hope to continue to provide to all LSCs within the community.
Annual Conference – Come together with peers from around the world for lecture-style presentations and learning sessions on industry-specific topics. Here you will learn about business best practices, latest industry trends and cutting-edge
training sessions. Members and non-members alike gather each year to develop better business skills and broaden their knowledge of industry-related issues and solutions which are applicable to their own business. Sessions are hosted by industry leaders
and professional speakers, all thought leaders in their area of expertise. All Annual Conference events are at a discounted rate to members. Attending the Annual Conference awards significant networking opportunities, collaboration, and education.
Annual UnConference TM – Our C-suite retreat for re-engineering your business is your golden opportunity to learn directly from your peers. At an ALC Annual UnConferenceTM each “session” is broken into small roundtable collaborative meetings where you have the opportunity to discuss, work together and learn directly from other LSC leaders on topics specific to your business
and your business’s success. These events are not hosted by speakers but by YOU and what is important to your business. All UnConferenceTM events are at a discounted rate to all members and include time for interacting and discussions.
ALC Bridge – The future of learning and career planning is here! ALC Bridge is a platform to help connect students, universities
and business leaders to promote successful careers in language. With ALC Bridge you have the ability to share job postings, review resumes of qualified professionals seeking careers in language, learn about universities’ programs specific to language,

by a LSC to provide quality services required by their clients. Learn more about becoming ASTM 3130-18 Certified here.

- Ensuring the LSC Community has the continued support of federal and local lawmakers
Global Industry Partnerships – The ALC works to advocate, advance, and improve the Language Service Industry around the globe through partnerships with other associations. We all share common goals and come together to collaborate and
provide a larger voice for the industry. Through teaming up with other Associations in the Language Industry, ALC is able to provide our members with discounted rates for conference events and additional global resources to members. See our comprehensive list of Partnership Associations here.
ALC Roundtables – In addition to conference events, ALC also provides our members with in-person or virtual opportunities to connect with like-minded colleagues on timely topics, built through feedback from our members.
