Translation and Localization: What's the Difference Between the Two?

In broad terms, translation is to communicate the meaning of text written in a language (source language) into equivalent text in another language (target language). Language localization, means to adapt a product or service into the language of any region or country to account for the difference not only in the language but the culture as well.
