In February of 2013, the Association of Language Companies (ALC) hosted an UNConference at the PGA National Resort in Florida. It brought together 40 companies to talk about and develop solutions to the issues in their business at the moment.

The feedback ALC received from this event was out of this world. But instead of us saying how much the participants got out of the event, we thought we’d let you read what attendees wrote about the event in their own words.

Time to Think

Richard Brooks of K International plc (in the UK) commented on the amount of value he gained from attending the UNConference, he said it gave a new CEO time to think, time to take stock which is a commodity that a CEO doesn’t have much of.

“Would I recommend it? You betcha! I got literally pages of ideas to develop further and a very real plan to help me to achieve my professional goals.”

A Unique Concept

Dimitra Hengen of Alpha Omega Translations attended the event and wrote on her company’s blog about how the UNConference gave her the tools and education necessary for management and growth.

“The theme—and every discussion—was about the languages services industry. At other conferences, attendees are spoken to. Here, everyone speaks with. This format provided a lively forum with direct answers and questions.”

Ideas and Energy

And Uli Dendy, CEO of TrueLanguage, was so impressed with the event that she issued a press release saying,

“This was unlike any other professional gathering I have attended.”

The People

The ALC is a truly unique group of people. The next get together is in Boston (MA) in May 2013.
